3D GeoHeritageMap
In the broader research area of “Digital Earth”, representations of geospatial phenomena play an increasingly important role. The action explores and develops a range of services for the Petrified Forest of Lesvos, such as ground and aerial data collection (UASs and Laser Scanner), the creation of 4D augmented maps and the development of educational material using modern visualization methods for the promotion of Lesvos Geotopes.
Furthermore, it is studied how 4D representations can contribute to the understanding of the natural phenomena that led to the creation and evolution of the geo-environment, as 4D maps can be a useful method for the visualization of complex dynamic environmental processes.
