Proestakis Stavros earned his BSc & MSc in Geography from the University of the Aegean, focusing on cartography and geoinformation. His PhD started in 2022 and is investigating methods for 3D mapping and geovisualization of climate change impacts in protected areas. The investigation focusses on the monitoring though 3D mapping of the Vrisa and Vatera area in Lesvos, affected after the fire on 2022 with the utilization of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAV). Additionally, emphasis is given to Web Mapping and Web Cartographic Applications.
